ABOUT THIS CLASS:
This class is for the beginner cookier or for the person who is just curious about what cookie decorating is all about! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with royal icing, or if you're trying to have fun with family or friends, this is the class for you! We’ll be decorating a set of 6 Christmas-fun themed cookies –
I anticipate class will sell out quickly so snag your tickets soon if interested!
I provide everything you will need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in! Each to-be-baker gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing required. Just decorate!
This class is on Saturday, 12/9 and starts promptly at 12:00 – 1:30 sharp so we can have enough time to decorate and answer along the way. Come by yourself, bring your best friend, or bring the family! It's a blast whether you're coming with a friend, family member, or solo!
This class is good for ages 10 and up (accompanied by an adult), but if you'd like to leave the kiddos at home, purchase an add-on kit (more on that below)! The kits are great for kids at home, plus - we'll send you the class PowerPoint so you can teach them yourself if you’d like!
The class will be held at Mesquite Creek Outfitters in Caldwell, Idaho located at the Indian Creek Plaza. Nervous about the parking situation? Don’t be! Parking is pretty easy -
there is plenty of street parking around as well as some lots.
What will I be doing in the class?
Besides having the most fun ever? I will be going over some cookie facts, decorating techniques and you will be decorating your very own set of cookies that you will take home with you that day.
Can I purchase an additional take-home kit?
Yes! Many parents or practicing cookiers purchase additional class kits to take home and re-do the classes. You can purchase an add-on kit during check-out. Your kit will be available at the end of your class - so don't forget it! If you’re skipping class and just ordering the kit – swing by anytime during class to sneak in and pick it up – it’ll be labeled with your name!
Do I need to know how to bake?
Nope! No baking experience required. We will have the cookies pre-made for you along with the icing already mixed and colored. Have a little decorating experience under your belt… er… apron? Come on too! I can help with questions on icing mixing and dough spread!
What will we learn in class?
You’ll learn what goes into preparing royal icing, the value of different icing consistencies – I’ll touch on tips and tricks to make your cookies look even better than they taste (and they taste good)! You’ll also learn different decorating techniques depending on the class theme such as marbling, outlining, wet-on-wet, brush embroidery, and painting.
What do I need to bring?
Nothing but yourself! Everything will be provided for you. All you need to do is join me and have fun! Messy decorator? You can bring your own apron or just wear easy-to-wash clothing. There is a PowerPoint for reference, so if you wear glasses, we'd encourage you to bring them as well.
What age is best for cookie classes?
Classes are for almost any age! From youngsters to grandparents - come on in and have some cookie fun with us! My in-person classes are great for any age; however, kiddos under 16 will need a parent taking the class as well. If you think your child may be too young to enjoy the in-person class, purchase an additional take-home kit! We'll send you the class PowerPoint, and you can teach your kids in the comfort of your own home.
Can just my child take the class?
I ask that all parents also attend the classes with their children under 16. For children over 16, you can drop off your child to take the class and return to pick-up in 1.5 hours. Due to space restrictions, we do not have room for parents to stand by and watch their children in class. So unfortunately, your adorable kiddo cannot take the class alone. A parent must also purchase a ticket and take the class as well - but I promise you this - it's super fun for all involved!
What will I bring home?
By the end of the class, you will have created a set of gorgeous cookies ready to dry for 24 - 48 hours in their own box. I’ll send you an Amazon link with a list of the tools we used in class so that you can recreate these cookies at home. And of course, you’ll have new skills, memories, and fun!
Can I sign up as an individual or as a group?
You can sign up either as an individual, with a friend, or with a whole group. The more the merrier! We have limited seats per class, so definitely sign up ASAP!
Where are the classes located?
This class will be held at Mesquite Creek Outfitters in Caldwell, Idaho - that address is 712 Main St. Caldwell, Idaho.
I signed up for a class but can't make it?
:( I understand that life happens so that’s why I allow you to cancel up to 7 days before the class. You can always transfer your spot to a friend also. Any cancelation less than the 7 days will be a class credit redeemable for up to 1 year from the credit issue date.
Things to Bring:
Wondering what you need to bring to have a successful time decorating? Well – nothing’s required – but here’s the things we recommend if you’d like to elevate your experience!
• Bring an apron! Things can get messy when you’re workin’ with royal icing – so grab an apron.
• Bring your glasses!
• Bring your phone! Feel free to take pictures throughout class!
• Bring a good attitude! Cookies are fun, but they're also challenging! A good attitude makes all the difference.
• I will have some beverages available, but feel free to bring your own nonalcoholic beverages to this class!
Who doesn’t love getting out and doing something fun while also eating delicious cookies!? These classes cater to the beginner cookier or people just looking to have fun learning a new skill. Whether you just want a fun date, a girls-or-guys-day-out or just want to explore what cookie decorating is on your own - we have a seat for you.
For our classes, all you will need to bring is yourself (and an apron if you are a messy decorator), and I’ll take care of the rest. Oh – and bring eyeglasses so you can see the instructional PowerPoint if your eyesight is anything like mine. You will get a set of pre-baked cookies (pretty tasty if I do say so myself) as well as all the supplies you will need to decorate them during the 1.5 hour class. You will leave the class with your very own box of your very own newly decorated cookies!
A little about me – I’ve been baking cakes, cookies, you name it, since 2001. My favorite cookie themes to decorate are all the holidays– but I can do pretty much anything if icing’s involved. I love what I do –who wouldn’t love making cookies?! It’s the sweetest job in the world!
Oh yeah - I am planning on having classes throughout the year which highlight different themes so make sure to sign up for my newsletter so you can get in on the cookie action!
Cancelation / Refund / Sick Policy:
Classes follow the current recommendation by the local government and health organizations.
Class Masking Policy: You will not be required to wear a mask throughout the class; however, you can choose to wear a mask if you'd like!
Please contact me if feeling sick. If it’s less than 7 days before the class date, I will issue you a credit for another class.
You Don't Show Up or Email Prior To Class:
If I do not hear from you before your class’s start time, and you do not show up for class, I won’t be able to offer you a refund or a credit even if you're sick. So please reach out before class if you are unable to attend!
DIY / Add-On Kits:
Order your sugar cookie class kit and take the class home with you to teach a child or friend! These class kits come with everything you'll use in class, and I’ll email you the class PowerPoint so you can follow the step-by-step instructions from home! Cookie Class DIY Kits are created before your class, and you'll pick them up and take them with you after class.
How long can a kit last? Depending on how you store your icing, your kits can last for a week or longer. Freezing cookies keep them fresh for a long time, but I recommend using your kit as soon as possible - ideally in the first week after you've taken it home. Cookies are heat sealed for freshness – but again, use it in under a week to make sure it tastes the best. Ask me for details on how to store!

Class Cancelation Policy: Classes may be canceled at the discretion of me, the event host. This would be only in an emergency situation and is not anticipated to happen – but in that extremely rare event that it does, you’ll receive a 100% refund.
Classes with attendance below 5 students will be canceled. Don’t be sad! You can either get a class credit for a future class (along with my apologies), or a full refund! I’ll let you know if your class has low attendance 7 days before the event is canceled so that you can bring a friend (hint hint) or find other plans for that day.
Weather Policy: Sometimes Jack Frost doesn’t play well with cookie class schedules, and Mother Nature seems to be takin’ notes. In the event of inclement weather, I’ll contact you with options – these may differ depending on the weather event but rest assured – we’ll figure something out!
